Bench Dog Template - Just piddling around on a dreary evening so i thought i would work on a template/jig for drilling dog holes in a work bench. I have done this on a number of benches, both solid and manmade centres to the bench with solid dog areas. I have the bench dog extension wing on my delta unisaw. No problems, no vibration, no burning. It is designed for a top that is 36 inches wide with 3/4 inch holes every 4 inches. It is my lack of ability to create a template that is accurate enough so when i drill the holes, the parf dog system would work.

Bench Dog Template - Probably not many bench dog pro lift owners here and likely fewer looking for the template guide insert for the older metal lift. I use 3/4 square bench dogs on my benches. Thus i have square holes running 3 inside the edges of the bench.

Probably not many bench dog pro lift owners here and likely fewer looking for the template guide insert for the older metal lift. The older metal plate's in the sites pic, however the, current, (not designated as metal or plastic) insert in the adapter list is for the newer plastic base plate. The bit is still very sharp. The saw extension has worked well particularly because of the large table area created by the saw and the outfeed table for the saw. Work bench dog hole template.

You wont be able to use your bench dog plate anymore but that is a small price to pay. The Bit Is Still Very Sharp.

The 9 x 12 size can be trimmed to perfection in about 5 minutes using the rousseau template kit. I have done this on a number of benches, both solid and manmade centres to the bench with solid dog areas. The holes came out very clean and precise. Be aware rockler doesn't carry it anymore.

No Problems, No Vibration, No Burning.

I laid out the holes, using a circle template. The bench dog plate that rockler sells appears to have a insert that takes on pc guide bushings. You can see it in my gallery. I route the grooves across the edges, and then put extra lengths alongside to the widen the bench on both sides.
